Every body is different, and so is every spine! Learn how to unlock your individual anatomy for a deeper and more even bend!
This 2 1/2 hr workshop will prepare students to safely stretch and stabilize the torso to gain a greater range of spinal motion. Along with hip opening and shoulder mobility work, we will learn healthy gateways to deeper vertebral extension through classic back bending postures like camel, cobra and bow pulling pose. We will practice abdominal and trunk strengthening exercises to balance the spine, and use fluid movements to create flexibility in all the stuck spots. Using this foundation, we will work towards more advanced poses like full bow, wheel and full camel.
Bending backwards can help relieve back pain, redistribute back strength and release positive endorphins into your yoga practice.
This workshop is for yoga students of all levels of experience who want to gain more mobility and unwind the secrets of backbending.
